OPEN DAYS 2020 Unfortunately the in-person Open Days scheduled for Wednesday 1 July and Thursday 2 July have been cancelled. There will be Virtual Open Day events scheduled for those days. More details will be released here soon. Currently the Open Day on Friday 18 September is scheduled to go ahead as planned. This will be confirmed in the next few months.
Corpus Christi College competition yields first prize Glenalmond pupil 2nd May 2018. Glenalmond College. Alex Wallace, a Music Scholar at Glenalmond College, has just learnt that his submission to the University of Cambridge’s annual Corpus Christi College Essay Competition has won him first prize.
Academic competitions for schools and colleges Several colleges and departments of the University of Oxford run competitions which are open to students from schools and colleges. Preparing an entry for one of these competitions is a valuable experience for academically motivated students, so please do encourage your students to enter.
The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students. The aim of the Prize is to encourage able sixth formers to pursue their interest in Philosophy, with the hope that they will be encouraged to read this or related subjects at University. The titles for the 2020 Philosophy Essay Prize competition are as follows.
Corpus Christi College was founded by Richard Foxe, Bishop of Winchester and an accomplished statesman. After joining the church, Foxe worked as a diplomat for Henry Tudor. He became a close confidant of his and, during Henry's reign as Henry VII, was appointed Keeper of the Privy Seal and promoted up the bishoprics, eventually becoming Bishop of Winchester.
Robert Walker Prize for Essays in Law Trinity College was pleased to launch the Robert Walker Prize for Essays in Law in 2013. The prize is named after an Honorary Fellow of the College, Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and former law student at Trinity.
Trinity is a large college with excellent facilities, notably a well-stocked library that contains an extensive collection of geographical texts. The College is located close to the centre of Cambridge and is only a 10-minute walk from the Geography Department.
